Iphone 4 Holder

Very opinionated response there Ben, regarding how you feel about looks, and how you feel about the menu system. The menu system to me on Androids are better... simple things like having a desktop that is fully customizable seperate from my menu, leaving me to have either a blank desktop with just my wallpaper, or put on just the icons or internet shortcuts of my choice, leaving my least used apps on the separate menu... then there's the widgets for the desktop, anything from clocks, Google searching, plus tonnes more I couldn't possibly sit here and list.

Apple don't have Flash player,

IPhone doesn't have full Bluetooth, you can't even change your sms message centre number if you ever have issues with it, the sim has to be put into another phone to change it then put it back.

Regarding the looks of it? Yeah, its a nice phone, but to say its outright nicer than any Android phone is massively close minded.

For anyone to argue that its the best phone in the market is silly and shows a lack of knowledge. Not that I'm saying its NOT the right phone for some people.... I am saying that majority of people are buying the handset based on Brand and paying extra for it.

Since youre a phone shop manager you may know this. Why is my iPhone 4 running so sluggishly? Is it true that apple will make the last update before a new iPhone slow so that the person will buy the new phone? Its really annoying me it has been replaced once and this one is running the same. I had a black one and that was fine which is why when my three contract was cancelled (wouldn't get signal indoors in my town anywhere even in another phone :S) I bought the white one for a change and these run slowly for some reason and I dont get why because its the same phone :S but I never had the most recent software on my black one as it was 2 months ago. Its running at the same speed my old 3g used to run at :|

I've never heard of that theory before.... honestly though, I doubt theres any truth in it as there would be a mega uproar from other handset manufacturers looking to put another company in their place by badmouthing them lol... but then again, may possibly be truth in it, best to ask someone else on here who has an iPhone 4 and has the latest software? My Mrs has one, but she doesnt update the software coz she's lazy :P

How often do you reboot the phone? I'd recommend every couple of days just to clear up the RAM and refresh it, maybe worth checking to see what apps are running in the background too..... possibly backup your phone and do a full reboot through iTunes, which will delete the entire phone back to day one.

I do it multiple times a day as it gets turned off between breaks at work and I am constantly checking to make sure theres nothing running. Weird thing is that on this, and the other sluggish one, putting it on airplane mode makes it run smoothly again :S

Brodit SE, always use Brodit. Only problem with the current iPhone 4 design is the arm that wraps around the pillar doesn't stick out quite far enough and you can scratch the plastic wrapping the pillar from the front windscreen to the roof every time you take the phone out!

But other then that, Brodit stays put. High quality plastics. I just wish Ford gave the Fezza a power socket that only works with the ignition, don't have to keep unplugging the phone charger then.

As to iOS updates, I can certainly verify that with the last 2 or 3 updates my iPhone 4 has steadily become slower and more sluggish, like it's stuffed with bloatware. I will get the next iPhone so long as it's the same design as the iPhone 4, then no more for a few years.

It's getting a bit tiresome reading Apple and someone suing each other or blocking a competitors product from sale every day!!..

All this talk of phones. Decided I wanted a new one. ;). Got an HTC Sensation. Boom! Tell me the iPhone is better than this shizzle.

Tbh I was considering selling my iPhone before and getting one of those but read some terrible reviews about 5 hour battery life and lock buttons jamming and stuff. You'll have let me know how bad/good it actually is haha.

I never pay attention to reviews tbh.

1 bad experience tells 10 people

10 good experiences tell 1 person

Maybe worth pm'ing me soon to find out what I think coz I'll forget to tell you.

Danny maybe someone should open up a new thread will a poll iphone vs android. :P

I have a iphone 4 and my other half has an htc sensation, both good phones and equally the same in my eyes.

Hard to compare iPhone vs android..... Like one man vs an army lol

looks like i've opened a can of worms here!

Anyway, back to topic. Thanks for the suggestions guys, much appreciated. Think I will opt for a Brodit!

Of course, iPhone being the army? Lol ;)

Damn right!

Damn right!

Haha. Fanboys, defend the underdog

I just ate a cake.

Not really the underdogs are they when 130 million iPhones have been sold

More Android handsets have been bought worldwide than iPhone.

I had a guy in my shop 2 days ago. Asking for an iPhone... He currently spends £25/mth so I asked him what features specifically he's after..... "email" that was his only answer.

A classic case of wants and needs not matching up. Which is fair enough, I want a great camera in my phone but I don't need it. I want a big memory for my music, but i don't need it

In Apples case.... They have done phenonenally well because have got people wanting their brand.... I salute them, the company have succeeded.... However, for people to deny that they're a sucker to advertising and try defend they have "the.best phone" in the market place is stupid.

Ps. Facetime used to be called Video Calling and was done 8 years ago by Three network, they done it over phone signal and didn't need WiFi.

but the iPhone numbers are more impressive as that is just a standalone device..not like Android who have many different ones be it HTC, Samsung and so on and lets be fair..they're not the greatest handsets in the world..

Its open sourced software meaning that they are more susceptable to viruses, malicious software and so on..

Video Calling back in the day was like £1.30 a minute hence the reason why FaceTime is over WiFi (at the moment) is because its free that way until carriers can come to an agreement to offer it over 3G.

Obviously its all down to personal preference and not the right forum to have this discussion so we'll leave it at that..

Like the saying goes for anything Apple 'It Just Works'.

Back on topic, I would go for Brodit, however I'm waiting to see if the iPhone 5/4S form factor changes as to which holder I buy.

I have an iPhone and wish I hadnt bothered tbh my old HTC Hero was better wish I hadn't given it my dad now tbh (see I can make a fair judgment as i've had both!). And the real reason that facetime is WiFi only is because apple know its one thing they cant get to work properly over 3G so don't give the option as, when it didn't work like every other video phone, apple would look bad because noone blames the network they blame the phone its just apple playing it safe.

Thats just stupid saying that it's done over wifi because of the carriers not supporting it.... T-Mobile offer truly unlimited internet packages with zero 'fair use policies' on it. I know people that use their phones as wifi hotspots and connect their laptops so they can video conference every day for work.....

I can't think of a single feature on the iPhone that isn't done better by someone else.

ps) I will give credit to the quality of the apps, but they're made by other companies usually, so no credit to apple. Plus those same companies are building the same apps for Android.

Let's be honest you only want an iPhone coz it has the latest FIFA game first.
