mitch84
Hi Thinking about getting a new car soon and would like to know a rough price on the value of my car if i did a part exchange? I have a ford zetec 1.4tdci (3dr) (2009 plate new model) in white Its in very good condition apart from the odd stone chip that is barely visible and has done just over 16000 on the clock. I was thinking about £7000 there or abouts , am i way off? thanks

For an 09 plate with your stats: Trade prices (what a dealer would give you for one): CAP sees it at 7300 (clean) GLASS sees it at 7700 (clean) Retail prices (what you could buy one for from a dealer): CAP sees it at 8550 GLASS sees it at 8875 Those are based on the Nov 2011 guides. Find out which guide your dealer uses before PXing it - most Ford dealers use CAP tho. Bear in mind most salesmen get commission as a percentage they can get the PX below guide AND the sale above guide.
