Illuminated Kick Seals

Featured Replies

I noticed that my illuminated kick seals do not glow up or turn on with car lights etc , i took off the inner seal trim and front quarter section to allow access to the wiring , i disconnected the connector plug from main wiring in car to kick seals , i ran a power and earth to the passenger side and it lit up , however drivers side didn't work at all , the main wiring loom plugs are not getting a live to them anyway , my concern is , should ford sort my wiring issue out under warranty as it is original factory loom even though only one kick seal would light up ? i am happy to buy a new pair or just the 1 thats not working if this is the case ? Thanks for any responses , I noted somewhere that if you buy a second hand car from a ford dealer you get 2 years warranty but not sure whats covered. However i strongly believe that any original ford wiring should be covered under their warranty as it was factory installed , just 1 point further my illuminated gear stick works fine.

I'd take it back, sounds like you need the wiring loom replaced. Should be covered under warranty.

I think the dealer has disconnected the plug somehow so none would work , if anyone knows where the wires run to i can look myself , drivers side goes under the carpet towards the gearstick area i think ,

I will take back what i said , i traced wiring back to behind glove box and found that the 1amp 3.2v fuse had blown , i presume this has blown due to a fault that occured on the drivers side scuff plate as this does not work , however i fixed the problem and atleast the passenger side illuminates nicely now , I now wonder if i could buy just one ?
