Mk4 Diesel Ignition/electrical Problem Help Needed

Featured Replies

Hello

I have a 1996 Fiesta Diesel Classic.

It has been running well, but after a trip to the shops I went to start it and nothing happened when I turned the ignition, no attempts to start the engine etc.

When turning on the ignition the dashboard lights come on in a random manner i.e. the full beam and indicator lights are lit event though they are not on.

When I go to start the engine the headlights come on and again various lights come on the dashboard, but nothing mechanical occurs.

The hazard warning lights don't work either, it just makes a strange noise when I try to turn them on.

Thats the best description I'm afraid.

I am sure it is some sort of electrical problem, so I am just seeing if anyone else has encountered anything similar or knows what it could be.

Could do with some help as the car is stranded at the moment and even the hazard lights don't work!

Any help much appreciated
