Cigarette Lighter - Power

Featured Replies

Hi, I just wondered if anyone else had had this issue?

I have a 2011 Zetec and use the cig lighter to power my sat nav... Recently, my old one broke, the bit that goes into the socket came to bits.. to be honest it was such an old sat nav that I thought no more of it. Then I bought a new one. Just used it for the first time today and realised it wasnt powering my sat nav... I had a feel around within the socket and a bit came away, but whether that is from my old broken one or the fitting of the actual socket, I am not sure. So.. I cant imagine it is the new sat nav as it seems to be a standard power fitting.... so presume it is either something is stuck from old sat nav or the actual socket is faulty?

Hi

Have you got any other cig lighter power operated things you could try like a electric tyre pump?

Get the vacuum cleaner out with small nozzle on and try and suck anything that might be in there out. After that check you handbook for the fuse number it may have blown the fuse . don't go sticking your finger in the its only 12v but i know it hurts if you get zapped

thank you.. will try the hoover first to see if anything is there and if not will go for the fuse box... i looked in the handbook and identified which fuse it would be... am i right though - seems like i have to go via the glove box on passenger side? is it then easy to see the fuses.. also it seems there are 3 options of lay out, according to the hand book

I have a focus so not certain on the layout of the fuse box on a fiesta , maybe a fiesta owner can help you with that one ;)

another questiion, my brother says where his sat nav goes doesnt look like where mine would go... am i being thick? there is the only one place? the 12 v power outlet next to where the usb would go?

its a yellow fuse 20 amp mini digger, halfords do them cheap job, easy change to mine broke.. your handbook should show you which fuse it is

yes found it - thanks... although seems it isnt the fuse.. so will go to Ford on wednesday as sat nav is not the issue.. seems the outlet is..
