First Detail Clean

Featured Replies

well I bought the window cutter yesterday, I will be going out (hopefully) in the next 5 minutes to clear the window (if I dont get too distracted on here! lol), as for the antimist, not got any of that yet (I ordered it at halfords, they text to say the order was ready, but failed to tell me that the antimist wasnt in stock, so I am waiting for the delivery to come in to pick that up!).

I spent £16 there yesterday, for that I got their "Snow Broom / Ice Scraper" for £9.99, the "Glass Cutter" to try and get rid of the cack from the window, and the anti-mist stuff free... Not a bad deal I dont suppose, got two smaller products for just under £3 each at the end of the Buy 2 get 1 free deal!

well, first clean appears positive, now I just spent 15 minutes out there giving it a clean, and initial outlay is good. The "wiper marks" have been removed, the old dirt lines across the top (that always seem to come out as soon as you wash the car are gone!) I am going to see how it goes tonight, I will be in the dark so will see how glare is and how water spray / rubs off and wether any marks are left.

The reviews are positive that the first go cleaned the windscreen very well indeed, and repeated usage gives an almost new windscreen presence! so I will let you know how things are tomorrow!

ps James, for someone who aint Photoshop pro, I struggled to see the photoshop element of your car above!

Would you send me a link to the vinyl please? Il have a look into that one. Thanks for letting me know!

Well a bit of feedback - Halfords did alright on that product! it cut the grease and it hasnt left any wiper marks, the rain runs off fairly well, and doesnt clog the screen. so with a replacement of wiper blades, and a nice clean window, I feel a little more prepared for the inevitable!

Still waiting for my damn demist stuff though!

Thanks for that. Looks to me like a fairly big job to cover the grille with the vinyl, taking the bumper off etc. Is that how you are planning to do yours? Idealy, for the best result you want to cover it with one piece and cut out the sections once applied so you dont end with any join lines in it, not sure if the vinyl would be 'usable' even with a heat gun to do this?

no need to remove bumpers its a simple process put the vinyl over the whole area use a heat gun to get the shape then trim out the sections ie gaps in the bumper leaving just a bit extra vinyl then apply heat folding the vinyl where necessary and tidy it all up far simpler than painting and lasts longer

Ok sounds good. I thaught it may be easier to apply if you had the bumper laying face up. But then again you have the hassle of removing the bumper. Let me know how you get on doing yours, Something I may have to do myself instead of spending £££ on getting someone to paint it!
