Should I Void My Warranty

Featured Replies

you can get some tuning packages that are completely reversible. If you get a good enough independant many of them will keep the original mapping and be able to restore it is it was needed or there was a problem :)

Bluefin is totally reversible and as it uses a OBD reader to apply the code surely you can clear any codes from the ECU?

Modifications and Insurance - If the insurance is not notified of all modifications - even non standard bulbs - then they can void your policy which means you would be driving illegally.

A sharp Traffic cop would easily notice any physical modifications and would record them on the Vehicle Database. (Insurance companies use the same database).

If the Officer was to deal with your vehicle in the case of a collision all modifications would be noted and any amount of replacing original parts would be pointless.

If in doubt report all modifications - in most cases there would be no change of Insurance premiums at all.

Improved lights or brakes would likely seen to be safer and in those cases may possibly reduce premiums (but probably not, as insurance companies don't like reducing their profits)

Always pays to be open with Insurance companies, they can be very slippery when it comes to paying out anyway. Any excuse not to.
