Would Zetec Or St Bumpers Fit My Fiesta Lx

Featured Replies

Hi there,

I have just purchased a 2004 Ford Fiesta LX and was wondering if it would be possible to fit either Zetec or ST bumpers, and also upgrade the front and rear lights. I would also like to fit the rear spoiler when the time comes.

Where do you get the bumpers from, I found a website the specialise in bumpers for crash repair cars, but they only had the black non colour coded bumpers that are currently on my car.

Im basically just wanting to replace the bumpers, lights and fit a spoiler to it so any advice ir tips would be highly appreciated.

Thanks.

Hi Mate,

your chassis and sub frame should be the same design as the later face lift model, including the ST so a replica is 100% possible,

all of the parts will be a direct replacement, you don’t need to buy new parts for the upgrade as they can be quite expensive particularly the rear spoiler, instead i would check eBay regularly and get the items from there.

here are some 3 door side skirts

I bought all the pukka replica bits for my car even before i purchased the vehicle! A quick trip to the dealer for a none commital all in price for the bits needed might be worthwile though...I simply ASSUMED that all the ST bits for my focus would be daft money from Ford themselves, after getting a ropey ST front bumper via E-bay for just over £100, i discovered a new ST bumper from Ford could be bought for £99 (DOH!) ...Always worth a quick price check from the dealer first (and i don't mean checking an online price list either, i negotiated a 30% "trade discount" on anything i bought, despite not being in the trade... If you don't ask!) ;)

Thanks alot, I had a look online and managed to price up Front Zetec Bumper and Rear. Prices ranged from £60 primed, and £160 primed and painted. Unfortunately I can't find ST bumpers or skirts!

At the start of next year I will definetly be looking into a full ST conversions, including engine! I just want to change the bumpers over and give it a little bit of style in the meantime!

To be perfectly honest mate, doing a complete conversion (engine, gearbox, suspension, brakes etc etc) it would be cheaper to simply buy an ST Fiesta... Some insurance company's may turn you down too, and ask for an enginee'rs report etc...

Body mods are fine though, but you'll still need to notify your insurance company...

I steered well clear of any ST badging on my car, then after a while i fitted modified ST badges onto the wings after i'd come up with an idea on how to illuminate them... Thankfully my Focus is the estae version so can't be considered an ST rep, just an estate with ST influences i'd say.. ;)

Maybe the full ST conversion probably will be highly cost effective. Il just need to try and find the ST bodykit including lights. Iv been hearing the lights need a new wiring connector though?

Do you think buying a cheap Fiesta ST Spares or Repairs would be best feesable or just try and look for bumpers seperate?

Just to let yous know, I have just found this price list. As the guy says it's maybe an old price list and all in all without having to wire in fog lights I think the total price for the body kit and fitting screws/nuts comes to around 820 which does seem quite a steep price to pay.

If you intend to do a full on conversion, then buying a complete car would work out to be the cheapest way of doing it... However the work involved in basically swapping chassis wouldn't be for the faint hearted! I think i'd be tempted to buy a runabout car too whilst the fezzy is off the road... Less chance of the job being compromised by time restraints then. B)

I bought myself the ropiest old Rover 200 TDI whilst my car was being built, i didn't have the heart to be cheeky enough to sell the rover, i gave it away to a bloke that asked me for a lift, he seemed surprised when i said i can give him a car instead!

haha it's not everyday you get a car after asking for a lift! nice one mate!

Im an apprentice vehicle technician so id never be short of space to work on the car or tools but at the same time, the wages certainly wouldn't cover the cost of another car.

The whole cost of the ST bodykit seems a bit steep, surely there must be somewhere else to get the bumpers, spoliers and lights?

Only other option is to keep an eye on ebay for second hand parts from the breakers and buy what parts you can,

when you can, and eventually build up the conversion, your not alone mate i have had a zetec s focus mk2.5 body kit gathered in my attic since june 2011 and im only getting around to having it sprayed and fitted next month,

if i spot any mk6 fiesta ST parts going cheap on ebay uk ill PM you the links mate.
