If you guys thought I looked angry in that v*****ll, You should have seen me when I came out to my car to find this earlier. Someone in my works car park decided they liked my forum decal so much they wanted to get a really close look, its even the same panel directly beneath the decal I posted a picture of

Jesus mate that's bad, take it you don't know who done it?

I had one of them from a morrisons car park, mine was even a bit worse. Bought all the stuff to repair it myself, only to be hit by a lorry a week after resulting in the whole front bumper n wing panel needing replacing anyway.

I've recently picked up a tiny dink on my osr wheel arch.

I know exactly who did it too.

A neighbour has a disabled daughter and every day she goes to and from day care in a blue minibus.

The dent is exactly the right position for the front passenger door and even has the right colour blue paint on it.

Thing is, you can't really have a go at a disabled woman for doing it. Catch 22.

What is she doing, driving the bus anyways.

She should be in the back.

:D

Glad you saw the funny side mate lol

I thought id take advantage of the way its written.

I admire your anger managment self control though mate, id be doing back flips if anyone damaged my car. Down side of having love for a motor I suppose, always the threat of attack over hangs the beauty.

How you think I feel after everything that's happened to my poor old girl lol :(

After that goon hit my car with his organdonormobile I'm always checking that the camera is pointed at it, it can't catch everything though.

If it happens again with the bus I'll sue the company.

Do you reckon a repair kit from halfords would be enough to sort that out? How difficult is it, would it be better to take it to a body shop?

I did get some good news yesterday though, got a letter from my old insurance company in the US which should be enough to get me 4 years no claims on my policy over here. That's my insurance cut down by quite a bit hopefully.

I might get them to have a look at the chip in my passenger door as well. How much do you reckon the scratches will cost to get fixed?

I think you'd have to ring for quotes.

Prices vary depending on size and depth or scratches.

Some people use chips away but some others don't save them, I suppose it depends on whether the one you get listened on his training course or is a cack handed biff.?

In Plymouth I recommend ML-

probably looking at the 70quid mark at least. like clive said it all depends on the scratch.

like i said i was gonna repair mine myself. just depends if your any good with a spray can to blend it in. you may be able to to it with the all in one repair kits depending how deep the scratch is.

also depends on weather as it will take about 3 days. so if it pee's down before the coats dry it'll run down your car.

the idea is you sand down the scratch to remove any flaking paint, clean the area, depending how deep it is, build the primer up in coats about 20min apart in the scratch, leave it to dry 24hours, sand it down so you got an even smooth coat of primer, go over it with a few coats of paint 20min apart, 24hours to dry, then go over with a few coats of lacquer.

you'll have to try n blend the paint in with the rest of the bodywork though n gotta be careful not to screw it up n make it look crap. it is doable to do it yourself though but very time consuming.

you may be better off getting it done professionally n i think they have some sort of heat lamp to speed dry it so there's no waiting 24hours between coats.

Sounds like I'll be getting it done professionally then. Might just get my tail lights tinted while I'm there ;)

Lol yes mate, it's possible to do it yourself by all means, but I really doubt you'd wanna attempt it lol

N if you did balls it up, you'd have to pay to get a professional to sort it out anyway.

Do report back with the quotes you may get.

As for tinting the light units. If it's pricey, have you considered fly eye film? I'm gonna do that at some point as a temporary measure till I get OEM black units.

Yeah I can't see myself doing it, will post some quotes when I get them. As for the lights, one of my mates tried to suggest wrapping tights around them for a "smoked" look lol

I've saw the tights fitted to the rear lights of a moondust silver zetecS on focusownersclub.com (crack of thunder)

Stick to the fly eye film if anything atall mate.

thats basically what fly eyes is.

you can get solid black film to wrap the lights for the smoked look but i question its legality as i'm not sure how much light it will allow to pass through. waiting on clive to confirm this.

fly eyes however, is a perforated film with loads of little holes in it that you wrap the lights with, from a distance will look the business and allow like 95% of the light to pass through while appearing to be a solid black tint. can get it for like 10quid a roll n is a cheap alternative to actual black units that cost upwards of 70quid.

thats the same one I was looking at getting.

but although it says one sheet should be enough to do the headlights n rear clusters, i don't think it's likely. n would advise purchasing 2 sheets.

but if you are just doing the rear lights then yeah one sheets enough.

the official site is

http://www.flyeyeskit.co.uk/

but they are currently out of stock of all colours lmao

I ordered the ones off ebay because I only want to do the rears atm

As for the lights, one of my mates tried to suggest wrapping tights around them for a "smoked" look lol

Typical Royal, you can be in the middle of a desert and still come up with a dress, a blonde wig and size 11 high heel shoes for a run ashore.

Of course the tights aren't for you are they, or are they? ;)

  • Author

I wouldn't know, last run ashore my rig consisted of 3 black bin bags and 2 rolls of parcel tape to hold it all together....I didn't have much body hair left after that one.

Now that's a picture I won't be posting up here

lol people do say that the fly eyes just look like you've wrapped your missus's tights around your lights.

yes if your just doing the rears then the one ebay roll will do nicely. also like you said comes with a free sun strip with was appealing to me lol. you'll have to let me know of the quality when yours arrive cause i'll be ordering some myself at some point.

Woohoo, got a nice shipment in today...unfortunately I'm slammed with work again this week so probably won't get around to doing anything until the weekend. Hopefully by monday I should have Fly eyes on my lights (front and rear if theres enough material) Sun Visor, Glovebox lights, Boot lights, and rear footwell lights done!

Not chrismas already is it?
