Noise During Cold Start Up

Hi All,

I have a fiesta zetec s mk 6.5, 2006 plate which has an annoying noise when i start it up when cold.

After afew minutes of driving the noise disapears as the engine gets warmer.

Does anyone know what it might be?, i have changed change oil + filter recently and no change.

    Hi,

    I know this is a very delayed response but my 1.4 does this and it driving me mad trying to discover what it is the more i look the more i find nothing on the web, i found a few things which would explain it though, one is the fact that the engine is all alloy and so very light and more susceptible to shrinkage and contraction when hot and cold and also, if anyone else wants to get involved here does it have hydraulic lifters? or conventional shim type, either way these could both cause a tappy hard noise.
