Focus Central Locking Problem

Featured Replies

Hi all,

Newbie from West yorks here. I have a 2000 Focus which i'm very happy with. However it has a central locking problem.

Pressing the fob will unlock all doors except the drivers door. The key used to open the drivers door, but now the lock won't budge.

The key works fine when locking all the doors, as does the fob.

I believe this is a common problem. I assume the part I need is the lock, or could it be something else?

Any suggestions gratefully received.

Regards,

Paul.

have you tried disconecting the battery for 30 mins.

I have exactly the same problem would be grateful to know how to resolve it too! Thought it was just mine! X

try disconnecting the alarm/central locking control box which is under the dash on the drivers side to the right side, pull all the plugs out if possible overnight it will reset it may correct the problem.

you will notice it as the plugs are each a different colour.
