Problem With Diesel Particulate Filter

Hey I'm new to this and new to diesel cars really. My office relocated 40 miles from my home so decided to buy a 2008 1.6 TDCi zetec. Well after a 15 months of having it, the engine malfunction light came on and the car went into Limp Home Mode. So took it to the dealers and they have told me I have to get the Diesel Particulate Filter replaced and want £790 to do it!!! Does anyone have any advise on what I can do or get it cheaper elsewhere? Thanks in advance!

    the other option you have to to have it removed and the codes blanked out, this will probably be cheaper for you but take it to a place that know what they are doing.
