Caitlin86
Hi I am new to the site. On Saturday I stupidly drove over a block of ice on the road, then around 5 minutes later my wheel wouldnt turn and there was a loud creeking sound. I managed to pull over and checked there was NO power steering fluid. Obviously the ice has caused damage (maybe a leak). I got more power steering fluid in and managed to drive it to the garage but as I got to the garage the steering was getting heavy again. Unfortunatly the garage was closing so he couldn't look at it until tomorrow. Anyone any idea what I have done and what cost I am looking at. Thanks C
Stoney871
You've either damaged a pipe or popped a seal on the steering rack. It should be relatively easy to find where the fluid is coming from.
fordpartsman
my advice is wait to see what the garage says, you will very much be scaremongering yourself, and coming up with the worst possible solution, i would just see what they say, after all, its not going to be a new engine or alike
