Weird Sound Once Engine Knocked Off

Featured Replies

Has anyone noticed a strange squeaking noise for about 3 seconds after engine knocked off?

It sounds like a hamster on a wheel going round! That's the only way I can describe it!

I have a Zetec S TDCI 2011

Thanks in advance!

Yes and it's completely normal ;)

Lol ah good! What is it by the way? Thought I was hearing things at first! Thanks again for ur reply iNath :)

It's been discussed a few times but I don't believe there's ever been a definitive answer.

You're probably right and it's just the hamsters catching their breath!

I've always assumed that the noise is the flaps in the ventilatiion system behind the dash motoring back to their 'rest' position.

Not everyone has climate control though.
