Went to the ford dealership and a few other places nearby, basically there wasn't much choice about or a lot of cars in my price range.

However at the ford dealership the guy who was speaking to us said there is a ford fiesta zetec 1.25 climate coming in, 16k mileage and in extremely good condition so we put a £100 deposit down to hold the car for us.

Will take a look at it this Saturday and hopefully test drive it, if it turns out to be a gooden etc them ill buy it.

Price for this car...£5500 got the, down to £5300

Also insurance wise only £142 extra fully comp taking it to £842 a year with both my parents on too.

Just to ask while I remember.

I have an iPhone 5 and use the Tom Tom app as my sat nav. If I do get this Fiesta zetec climate 2008 this Saturday will I still be able to hear the Tom Tom directions through the car speakers?

With my current car I have a third party stereo with a USB connection and I have to set it to USB to get sound through the speakers and to hear my music as well from the iPhone, so I wonder if the case is similar with fiesta radio minus the USB connection which I assume I would use the Aux instead to connect sound from the phone to the stereo.

if its got the aux, you tend to have to set the car to aux to pick up anything that comes through it unfortunately. I tend to have it on bluetooth on my aftermarket unit, and just listen to music through the bluetooth, so then the instructions come through as well :)

In that case I may sell my current third party radio (single DIN) and get one with Bluetooth and USB connection.

Just to ask if I do decide to buy this fiesta zetec this Saturday what kind of checks will the ford dealership do before hand?

I know the car is coming in this week to be given to them so I assume they should do the following:

1) clean

2) service (some sort of check)

3) mot?

Also do they end up charging you for this?

Obviously they want customers who buy second hand cars to leave with them knowing the car is in good shape and all?

any dealer worth anything should do a HPI check on the motor before they take it into stock, or look to sell it knowing its a HPI dirty motor. They will 90% of the time, offer you a basic service to drive the car away with new oil, filter, and air filter as a minimum, some may do more, others probably will just stick to the basics. As for MOT, they will only complete if its due at the time of sale, otherwise they may sell it with up to 10 months MOT remaining, but they may complete an "unofficial" MOT, where they do not offer a certificate of conformity, but do all the checks and validate everything for your peace of mind.

Well good news all...I have a used ford fiesta 2008 zetec climate car as my new car :D ill be picking it up Monday after work so shall get some pictures up then.

Got it for £5168 including 6months tax and £100 for my old corsa!

Test drove it was amazed how good it drove.

Was a bit wierd with the steering not use with power steering lol

On a side note looking at the radio I might swap the standard car radio for my Sony GT560ui one but looking at the specs and it saying stalker adaptor compatible does that mean it would work with the wheel controls?

If so I believe i would have to get a special wire harness as well.

it means you would need to buy an adapter but yeah you should be able to use it with the stalk.

Well all I got my new car...been driving it since yesterday...wow what a difference and loving it. Glad I decided to go with a ford fiesta in the end.

After some reading of the manual and testing I decided I am going to sell my third party radio and just stick with the ford one...less hassle...and does what I need it to do, I was mainly worried I would not be able to hear the Tom Tom app sound properly but tested it and its all good!

Quite impressed with the Speakers etc a lot better than what I had in my corsa...and the ability to be able to hear myself think and listen to others talk to me instead of trying to hear over a wind tunnel effect :P

lol I amsure you will find something soon enough! footwell lighting, illuminated ignition barrel, better lights, LED conversions, wind deflectors....

My favourite shaped Fiesta!! The 1.25 is quite a perky little motor - don't tell my other half, but I'm almost miffed I didn't consider the Fiesta when I got my Focus :-P

I have to agree about the motor was suprised how well it handled on the motorway compared to my M reg corsa 1.2 lol

Think first thing to get is some wing deflectors for front and passenger windows.

Plus on a side note need to get mats and boot mat too :)
