02 Focus Key

Featured Replies

Hi I have an 02 focus but only have 1 key, it has no buttons on it, but it does come apart and there is a small battery attached to something inside, so where can I get a spare key for it and how much am I looking at?

Regards

Rod

If you can post a pic of it, it might help, but I have a feeling the key you have is an early cloned key, and once the battery goes dead it'll lose it's coding for the car,

If that is the case then you won't be able to start the car at all.

For spare keys one of the best sources are locksmiths, (mobile or otherwise), as they tend to be a lot cheaper than fords, but be prepared to put your hand in your pocket for around £100 for a couple of spare keys plus the re-programming of the PATS system.

If you do go the route of the locksmiths be sure to ask if they programme the car and not just clone the key, as it does make a difference if you need to add more keys at a later date
