Why would the oil level rise?

I didn't think this occurred with the 1.6 tdci engines

explain please?

I remember someone on these forums doing a poll asking for people to check if their oil levels rose overtime. And if I remember correctly the levels stayed same

not from personal experiences.

we would renew the oil and filter on the 2.7 TDV6 engines, take them for a forced regen with our diagnostic equipment down the motorway and when we got back the oil level was higher than before we set off.

with volvo it would bring the 'engine system service' light on and it would be an oil level code logged and volvo had brought out a chart with the correct oil level for there diesel engines, some of which ford use aswell
