Rear Drivers Side Passenger Door

Featured Replies

Hi

I am new to this site and I wonder if anyone has an answer to my problem.

My rear drivers side passenger door has jammed shut and is unable to be opened or unlocked by any means what so ever,I have read that this is not uncommon but no one has actually come up with a way to actually open the door to effect a repair.

Does anyone know on this site of a way to open the door,? I have the door card removed which was a task in its self! and I can see all that the cable is free to operate moving the linkage etc. I have tried various attempts to engage the lock but to no avail.

Does anyone have a solution?

Regards

Vtcman

disconnect the battery so that central locking is disabled, and then try unlock it from the inside, see what happens, it may be that the signal is telling the door to stay locked, whereas the rest are fine...

Thanks

I have already tried that but to no avail.

Sounds like possibly a seized solanoid, accessing the door without the card is the first place to start, douse it with WD40 to start, and then track it back to the solanoid and drown that also.

Hi jeebowhite

Thanks for your help but I had done exactly what you suggested and low and behold the door has finally opened after 4weeks !!

Thanks again

if its now open, keep dousing it with WD40, prevent it seizing up again. also check all the wiring and make sure there are no bad connections in any way. At least that way you are less likely to have it seize up again!

Will do many thanks for the prompt advice

Disconnect the solenoid as well just to be sure, it means you will have to lock it manually but at least it'll open when you want it to
