Rear Axle Bush Removal

Featured Replies

Realistically, will I be able to remove and replace these on my 05 plate fiesta? Got a dull knocking sound from the rear, which has been fixed by replacing the rear shocks so presume its the rear axle bush. I know they sell tools to get these out but is it possible to remove them without this? I have a source of heat and a large hammer...hoping that'll be enough! Was told by the garage it requires a fair bit of labour so will be expensive to get them to do it

If you are going to try and change them with the subframe still on the car and no bush tool then I can only offer you good luck I'm afraid.

I think the fiesta setup is similar to that of the focus which ca be an absolute nightmare

Was going to just lower the subframe down onto a jack and try and get the bush out, why are they so difficult?

the bolts seize into the inner sleeve of the bushes meaning the bolts just spins and wont pull out. also doing them on the car where there is limited room to get in doesnt help

i had a nightmare of a time doing bushes on a subframe which had been removed from a car
