Engine Stalling.

Featured Replies

Hi, my 58 plate 1.6 (petrol) style focus has stalled on me a couple of times. It tends to stall after I've been travelling at speed & I'm coming up to a round about etc.

I have noticed that when I press the clutch the idle speed drops to around 550-600rpm before settling at about 850rpm

Any ideas?! Thanks.

Worth having it looked at as it could be a fuel pump issue a fault in a sensor etc etc

Have you checked for any error codes? could be anything from a sensor, to a clogged air filter to any other problems...

i seem to be having the same problem with my focus st mk3 at first it was the cylinder head gasket that went and they fixed it but 2hrs later it went again saying that the engine was over heating and the red warning light came on so took it to ford and turns out that it is my ecu that has a problem so they sent out a new ecu but because there is no fault codes or clear faults showing up then they are refusing to fit it to my car.

anybody know what i can do next

Given that your car is a 13 plate, they shouldnt be even thinking about not fitting a suspected faulty part...
