Focus 1.8 Zetec 2000 Oil Filler Cap

Featured Replies

Hi, just bought a focus today, the oil filler cap wont come off , well the top will but not the rest. Ive read this happens a lot, has anyone found a solution to a replacement cap that wont have the same problem?

Thanks

what do you mean the top does but not the rest only the tops supposed to come off the oil filler cap

I mean the filler cap is like a medicine type safety cap, presumably to make sure it is tight enough when put back on. the outer bit comes off but not the inner, as the lugging pieces of plastic have broken off.

never heard of it before the cap should be a simple turn and click no need to push down etc if the lugs have broken off then a new caps in order if the lugs stuck in the rocker cover you may need to take it off a pic would be helpfull as ive never seen this before
