Engine Systems Failure After Changing Rear Brake Light

Featured Replies

I have a 2007 Focus estate 1.8TDci. This morning I changed the rear brake light bulb and when I started the engine I got 'engine systems fault' message. All the lights work fine but when I push the brake pedal the front beam comes on...

How can such a simple operation as changing a light bulb result in such a problem?????

It's going in for a service and MOT tomorrow and I don't want to be stung for nothing so if anyone can help I would be extremely grateful.

would double check you have fitted the correct bulb before anything else

Check the wire connection to the light you have being messing with, sounds like dodgy earth, also check bulb is correct one and in correct, if its a stop and tail make sure you have not got it in 180 degrees out.
