1800 Zetec Cutting Out.

Featured Replies

Hi folks. My focus 1800 zetec mk 1 has a bit of an issue at the mo. Every time I have to slow down on the aproch to junctions ect the engine just cuts out. Seems to be when im droping from 3rd to 2nd the revs just fall off and she dies. Starts straight back up by dropping the clutch. Ive just fitted a new idle valve sensor yesterday but hasnt helped. Its also

Seems to be running very hot. Although the temp gauge is showing norm and the fans are kicking in as they should. Anyone any ideas.

sounds like it could be the speed sensor on the gearbox it can also be a faulty dash cluster but most likely the gearbox sensor do the revs die completely when this happens or the speedo stop working momentarily

yes the dash cluster is going dead all the time. speedo only works for about the first 5 mins of driving before it starts playing up. yea revs completely die.
