Tow Hook Help

Featured Replies

I know some people dont like them but im putting an epr tow strap on my front grill but i dont have a tow hook. What size it the bolt i need to fix it i to the hooks thread?? Or how much is the hook and what do i need to fix them together ???

Does your car break down a lot...? :p

No lol just like them haha

Well its just cosmetic so just feed it through your grill and attach it to anything using a cable tie then nothing getting damaged and totally reversible, just remember not to tow off it ;)

Cable ties are pretty strong (at least they are when trying to remove them), may only need 2 or 3 to tow with

Lol thx guys haha wanted it more sercurw than that lol any one got ideas??

I used to think wind deflectors were the most pointless mod out there!!

Wind deflectors i find help alot, easy on the eye dont cost alot and they do what they say, nearly no noise from the wind and the annoying flapping sound when you only have one window open is gone but everyone's opinion.

I can have my window down & there's nearly no noise from the wind or annoying flapping sound, all without so called wind deflectors.

We get the subtle hint that you don't like deflectors. ;)

Remember that mods are personal choice.

For the towing strap the best thing to do is get the towing eye bolt out of the boot and measure the diameter and thread then find a matching bolt in a hardware store.

I know, just passing on the results of my experiment the other day.

I like the colour & 'Asia' grill.

Cheers :) i like it

You would never want to tow off it anyway as its not rigid so could damage your bumper, the tow hooks are a left hand thread so would not be able to find unless you went to a specialist bolt place then you normally have to remove a cap or bit of bumper trim so would look naff, hence why I said cable tie it on in the first place :P

They do look alright as a cosmetic enhancement, its when people fit them for real they never look right, but doing it the way you have you can adjust the length or even where it placed to make it look good.

I am going to buy one of these but does anyone know where to fit it on the new zs
