External Fuel Cap Cover

Featured Replies

Hi,

I went to fill up with fuel this morning, placed my spare ignition key into the external locking cover before you get to the actual filler cap. Turned the key and the barrel flexed the key and will not turn. The cap will now not unlock, when my normal key is placed in the lock it will not unlock so I am unable to get to the filler cap to fill up with fuel. It is a Ford Fiesta Zetec, 2004. I do not want to turn my normal ignition key in the cap as it will more then likely damage it. The spare key that was damaged has been rendered useless as it flexes and twists with any pressure.

My Fiesta is the same model as the image attached, it is the external fuel cap that can be seen in the image that I cannot open. post-24270-0-82345700-1377775753_thumb.j

Does anyone have any ideas as to how I can open it? Also, what could the problem be?

Cheers,

Simon
