Fitting A Strut Brace To A Mk7 Zs-Is It Worth It?

Featured Replies

Hi guys

Anyone fitted a strut brace to a MK7 and if so is it relatively easy and does it make any noticable difference to the handling?

Have seen these two on eBay that sound reasonable value for the money if you have any thoughts on them I would be interested

No.

I fitted one to my mk7 and it made a slight difference in very hard cornering, not the sort of speeds I'd recommend on roads so if you're wanting an increase for road use, it's not really worthwhile.

Thanks guys. Guess it's just a cosmetic mod then unless driving on a track.

David-are they straight forward to fit? I assume you just undo the nuts inside the engine bay at top of the strut and place onto the bolts then refit.

Pretty sure so, I got my dad to do it whilst I was on a uni trip and he said it went on easy.

Cheers will have to have a think about whether to spend the £100 on something when no one will ever see it apart from me and the Ford mechanics

If you want your car to handle better save your money and spend it on suspension instead either that or really grippy tyres
