Head Unit Not Working After Sub Install, Help!! (Ford Fiesta Zetec S 60 Reg)

Featured Replies

Hi guys!

Right, in a bit of a pickle here. I used the sub wiring guide available on here.

Iv just wired up my whole sub system, remote cable to ignition live, ra converter, two positive cables from the RCA crimped to two of the positive speaker cables coming from the back of the multi block, and the two negative cables from the RCA into the adjacent two negative speaker wires coming out of the back of the multi block.

Turned everything back on and all I am seeing is this. Can't change to aux or anything using the dash buttons, I can put hazards on, lock the car, but the actual head unit doesn't seem to be responding.

I can see a green 'cog' like icon on the screen which Iv never seen before, obviously this means there is something wrong.

Since this, I have removed all of the blue connectors and switched them for proper terminal blocks, which still didn't work. I have removed the RCA converter all together and connected all of the wires to how they were originally. Still not working.

Have removed the battery connection and left for an hour or so on two occasions. And nothing.

M really struggling now. It just appears the the head unit has completely crashed.. And whatever I do or press, I can't get rid f that green cog.

Any suggestions ASAP please??

This is all I get, and. Can turn the stereo off to give me the time.

When I have the car on, I can press the 'on' button on the head unit and I get the ford audio pop up with the ford badge on the screen, however, no matter whats pressed, nothing happens, I press CD and it just says 'no cd inserted' when I go to put a CD in, it's like the head unit is dead, it doesn't receive the CD like normal. All other buttons I press, I get nothing. It just stays in the ford audio logo...

When the car is completely off, I can press he on button and I can press the 'menu' button on the head unit and it allows me to select the lane change indicator setting etc. but that is it. I cannot get rid of that green settings icon no matter what I do...

I'm stumped honestly, everything has been put back to exactly what is was standard...

Iv posted this in the ZSOC and all the suggestions have come to no avail. Please help!!

Thanks
