I have just been looking at a 55 plate BMW 320 Ci Sport Convertible with the 2.2 litre engine. I thought I would just check how much my current insurers (Direct Line) wanted to cover it. Putting a like for like cover on a monthly plan with protected no claims and legal cover it came back at £283. Thats £13 less than my 1.6 litre Focus.

How rediculous is that?

    that is crazy! but then again I can only assume its the build quality, and the theft deterrants that make the difference?

    before we bought our current focus we went to look at a 55 plate civic with a 2.0 litter petrol engine and that was DOUBLE the insurance of out old focus. we were paying £400 for a 'W' reg 2.0 litter focus. in the end we bought our current 55 plate 1.6 focus saloon and ended up paying an extra £28
