Focus Drops Out Of Power And Glow Plug Light Flashs

Hi guys, this is on behalf my dad, my dad has a 1.8 tdci 54 plate, he was driving along When the glow plug light comes on and flashes just before engine cuts out. He has to Pull car over and try to restart the engine, he then drove few miles happened again. This has happened a couple of times over last couple days, people said it maybe the cam shaft sensor but any help great, thanks in advance

    It could be many things, EGR (exhaust gas recirculation) valve, camshaft sensor, injectors etc

    The glow plug flashing is the EML (engine management light) and the engine cutting out may be the ECU (engine control unit) shutting the engine down to prevent potential damage

    I recommend you get the codes read, or invest in a code reader before spending money on things you may not need, unless its a service item (like an oil filter, air filter ) or an EGR blanking plate (solid, stainless steel)
