Focus Engine... Tickover

Featured Replies

Hi

I think i have finally worked out my missfire and lack of engine power, i am putting it down to a loose ht lead on the coil pack (lets hope so)

Anyway i have recorded my engine on tickover to compare the general noise of the engine with other owners of the same type.

I'm not sure if mine sounds tappetty or that the general noise is the spark plugs and infact the engine runs really smooth, woud be nice to get some feedback from others, plus any advice and tips for a smoother ride. For example someone recomended using wd40 to spray on my ht leads to keeps them in a good shape and to last longer.

The video is in the link below, please respond if you have any ideas on this.

Its a 2010 ford focus 1.6 petrol zetec 100bhp

sounds standard for a 1.6 the ti vct isnt that much quiter when cold as for grease use dialectric grease like this its fords secret trick prevents missfires etc http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Servisol-Silicone-Grease-with-High-Electrical-Insulation-50g-Tube-/261174248087?pt=UK_BOI_Electrical_Components_Supplies_ET&hash=item3ccf32c297
