Audio Software Update?

Featured Replies

Hi all,

Please take this post with a pinch of salt, as I have absolutely no clue what I'm talking about -- I work in IT, so give me a computer and I can make it jump up and down and scream your name (if that's what you're in to!), but know nothing about cars.

I've read in a few places about a software upgrade for the audio system in Ford cars.

I have a 2011 Fiesta Zetec (I believe a MK7? Correct me if I'm wrong, though!). Is it worth doing?

It has the USB/bluetooth pack and things seem to work fine (image from google - looks this this: http://www.digitales-zimmer.de/dzwp/wp-content/uploads/2012/02/IMG_0221.jpg )

  1. Is there an upgrade available for this software?
  2. Is it worth doing?

I kinda regret not getting the model with the satnav/etc. as the current system seems a bit... basic, but not much I can do about that now!

You can find bluetooth/audio updates here:

http://www.ford-mobile-connectivity.co.uk/downloadsUpdates

This zip contains release notes, I kept mine up to date, but Ford generally have an "if it ain't broke don't fix it" attitude, so it is up to you really :)

Once you down load the zip file , clear the USB stick and format fat32 , then uzip the update file to the Root.

Choose files "8M5T-14D511-AV.bvc" and "8M5T-14D511-AV.vbf" . Only and unzip just those two files to the USB stick it should help with onlt those two files .

Then follow the readme on how to start the install.
