J1 Filter

Featured Replies

Hi all i stupidly sold me j1 filter a month ago after a local police officer told me to remove it, i sold it straight away due to insurance, i have now been told by my insurance i can have the filter added free of charge, i have the change to buy a 1.6 filter for cheap brand new only installed once and tested on a dyno then removed. Will it fit my 1.2?? Cheers

Anyone know if this will fit?? Cheers

Why did you remove it, what legal reason did he give you to remove it?

Its just a filter!

It was causing to much noise as i drove past, and he questioned my insurance over it, then went over my car with a tooth pick!! He told me to remove it or i will get a black mark against my car, in my local area hes known for being bent and scare tactics but i removed it just to be safe rather not have a black mark against me and get pulled every 3 seconds but now my insurance has written me a letter stating my filter is covered ect ect

And my mate bought one to dyno his car but sold it straight after so the filter only has maybe 20miles use and he gave me first pick but its for an1.6 and want to know if it will fit and work

Is it a replacement panel filter one or a bolt on filter. If its the replacement type then I am surprised it makes a lot of noise. I know the bolt on ones make a load of noise but due to heat soak tend to reduce performance.

The replacement filter all look to be the same size on the Fez:

It was the whole lot the kit with the box intake hose and filter, he said it caused too much noise when i accelerated he was following me for a while on my way home from work. I mean all it was doing was making a growling noise when i toke off not much.

Cheers i have sent an email to J1 and see what they say
