I am thinking of converting to hid lights on my 08 focus titanium. Has anyone else done this? What kit did you use? Was it canbus etc.

your suggestion/info would be greatly appreciated.

You won't get away with fitting HID light units into halogen light units as the focusing and light distribution patterns are totally different; which the major cause of dazzle by the typical after-market (e.g. eBay) conversions.

If you get pulled for a VOSA roadside check they can require an immediate compliance repair or they can impound the vehicle or you have to get it towed to a garage to get it fixed as they won't allow it back on the road until fixed (you'll need the paperwork declaring the vehicl as being repaired so that it's compliant).

The short answer is unless you're prepared to get the approved factory items fitted (i.e. self leveling sensors/adjusters, headlamp washers and headlamp units) then you risk the vehicle failing a VOSA check, be that MOT or a roadside tug.
