2010 Fiesta 1.6Tdci Zetec Questions

Featured Replies

Morning all new member here so please go easy ))))

Im just about to return to the fiesta fold) ive been looking at and test drove the above mentioned car with just 31k on the clock it goes really well, but the thing that concerns me is im finding post after post about leaking injectors across the tdci range (copper seal failing) are they really that bad? Is there anything else that I should be looking out for thanks in advance guys )))

Welcome to the club Ollie. I'm sure someone will be along soon to advise you on the Fiesta :)

Hi my daughter has a 2010 Fiesta 1.4 tdci and it has been a good car, the only problem she has had was the wheels getting bent. I drove it up to Gatwick for her about 200 mile round trip and the trip up there was with four people and the boot filled up and it went very well, it was the reason why we bought our new one. I think there was some thing to do with the alloys being a little soft around that year but i may be wrong on that but it would be a good bet to have them checked before you buy maybe.

Thanks for the reply, does anyone know if the dpf needs refilling at any point on these cars ? im hoping that I wont fall into the dpf issues that plague so many cars of late, as im going to be doing 100 miles a day in it mostly motorway

I had a 2010 1.6TDCi for 48k and never had issues with injectors or DPF.

It's a regenerative DPF so burns soot off when needed and doesn't require fluid.

Depends when in 2010 it was built.

They only started fitting DPFs around March/April.

Might be worth checking Ford ETIS.

Definitely has a DPF in that case.

What sort of journey are you doing? 100 miles as 50x 2 miles will be bad for a diesel, but 2x 50 miles would be fine.

50 miles to work and 50 back a day all on motorway )

Perfect for a diesel, you shouldn't have any issues with the DPF.

What age cars were you reading the leaky injectors for?

The 95PS variant is the latest SOHC 1.6 TDCi that they use for the Focus and Fiesta currently.

The wife had one years ago that was a 53plate 1,4tdci but to be fair they lasted till 78k,but im reading on the net that cars anything from 2004 to 2008 are leaking more so in the 2008/09 focus which I think have the same engine in the car im looking at (maybe wrong )

From March/April 2010 onwards the 1.6 TDCi in the Fiesta switched from being a 90PS DOHC, to a 95PS SOHC, so there have been some changes.

I'm pretty sure the injector leaks were sorted on the MK7 Fiesta onwards, so you should be okay. Might be worth seeing if you can find any evidence of people having the issue on 2010 onwards Fiestas though, even if for peace of mind. :)

massive thanks for all the info you have gave me alex looks like im off to put deposit down this afternoon) ive trawled the net for 2010 issues and it just pointing to the early models like you have said up 2008 so fingers crossed the 95bhp engine seems ok)
