New Fiesta Titanium And 5"/4.2" Dash Display

Featured Replies

Hi

I'm thinking of buying a new Fiesta Titanium 5 door which has the Sony DAB CD/Radio with Ford Sync and has a 4.2" display

All of other models below this have a 5" display but, when you 'spec' the Sony SatNav DAB CD/Radio with Ford Sync on this car, the display goes back up to 5".

So my questions is, if the Fiesta Titanium with the Sony DAB CD/Radio with Ford Sync and satnav has a 5" display, is there any reason why the Fiesta Titanium with Sony DAB CD/Radio with Ford Sync and no satnav, only gets a 4.2" display?

Minor detail I know but it makes no sense to me.

With regard to the Sony SatNAV DAB CD/Radio with Ford Sync, this is a £400 option, can anyone tell me if the Ford SatNav system with 5" display is any good and does it support the 7 digit/letter UK postcode and come with safety camera's built in?

The SatNav is something that I never thought I would use on mine, have to say it is fantastic though, not sure it would be worth paying £400 for though as you can get a fantastic of the shelf effort for far far less then that. You wont really notice the 0.8 of inch

Hi Ru4hie

Thanks for your reply. I have a few questions I hope you can answer for me?

1. You say that the Ford satnav is fantastic but can you confirm if, like a TomTom satnav, the device allows you to use 5 or 7 digit/letter post codes and does it have safety camera software included?

2. Is the software on the Ford satnav based on the TomTom software?

3. Is the Ford satnav software built in to the system software or does it come on an SD Card?

I already have a 2010 Fiesta Mk7 Zetec with a 5" display and that is quite a nice size that I've been used to for the last three years so, it may only be 0.8 of an inch but I think that I might notice that the display was smaller.

I also own at least two TomTom SatNavs and it would be nice to have a built in satnav and yes, £400 is a considerable amount of money but I suppose that the price you have to pay for a built in satnav that saves you sticking one to the windscreen.

1. whatever postcode i have used its got me there. You can tell it give you are warning when you exceed the speed limit not sure of the safety cameras though 2. No ides what software its based on. 3. The software is built in.

Hope that helps. Thing i liked most is the voice doesnt interupt the radio/ipod/usb whatever your listening to to give you a direction, you dont need to constantly drive with map screen on and the old girl doesn't get flustered if you ignore her directions. You dont get a calculating route ect
