Ford Focus Mk1 - Sony Mex-Bt4000U

Featured Replies

Hi there,

Recently purchased a Sony MEX-BT4000U and I'm looking to install it into one of my Focus', I've got a 98 model, and a 2003 model.

I'm struggling however, to find the right lead to go from the radio to the car's stereo leads - it needs some sort of adapter but I can't track down the right one.

If someone with more knowledge about this car + radio's it'd be greatly appreciated.

Below is a picture of the back of the radio, to see the size of the connectors that connect into it.

Many thanks in advance,

Ryan

Is the radio new? If so it should come with a lead that goes from that plug on the back on the Sony to standard ISO connectors. You would then simply need to buy a lead going from the Ford Connection to standard ISO for around £10 and job done. If you got the unit second hand then you will need get a replacement Sony lead. These should be similar to the two leads:

These leads then connect together.

Hope this helps

You need one of these-

It's for the steering stalk controller but they supply you with the correct patch lead for your radio.
