Bluetooth???

Featured Replies

Hey,

this morning i got in my car, tried to play music through bluetooth and when selecting the USB it usually starts the mucis its self but this time it never, it just froze but if i pressed play on my iphone and it would play through the radio.

i can see all my tracks on the car screen as usual but when i select one it does not play, again if i pressed play on my phone it would then play. also, it isnt allowing my to change the track via the car audio buttons only via my phone.

i was wondering if anyone could help on this.

i have turned bluetooth off on my phone and on again, and the same for the bluetooth in the car. i have debonded the phone and rebonded it. still didnt work. i did this kinda rushing so hopefully i can sort it tonight when not rushing. was working ok yesterday tho.

im guessing it needs to reset so im hoping when i go back to my car afterwork it will be working, i somethimes get little glitches like this but wondered if it has happened to any of you before.

if it continues is there a way of resetting the radio without touching the battering? dont like messing with the battery if im honest.

my cars going in to ford tomorrow to to ave DRL fitted so maybe if it doesnt work still they can just reset it without any extra charge lol.

thanks for your advice in advance

Luke

Try reset your BT module.

I think its just a matter of disconnecting the power to it for some seconds, then reconnect it.

Its located behind your glovebox. If you do a search here, or on youtube you will a iNaths guide that walks you through this procedure.

to be honest m8 id just disconnect the battery for a couple of seconds takes the hassel of finding the fuses away, remove the posi terminalplace it on a matt not touching the battery give it 5mins to de-energize and reconnect it it should work, like all things 99.99% of the time a good on off will work, its easy and if done slowly and safely no problems :)

Thanks for your help guys. I went to my car to have a little look, I turned my phone on and off and it worked. Maybe was the phone connection playing up. Strange!

Thanks again

I have to select Bluetooth device, not USB to play back via Bluetooth.

Do you have USB? Correct me if I'm wrong anyone, and this how my car does it, when selecting USB to get all tracks on the car screen the sound is still provided via Bluetooth unless it plays it through the USB which I'm not sure but I'm know that by selecting USB when my phone is plugged in via apple cable it plays the music.

I had an issue with bluetooth/USB on my Fiesta and iPhone. When you first start playing on bluetooth or USB, the phone selects that device as an output. If you then switch to the other, you have to select it on your phone as well.

Are you doing this?

Are you on iOS 7? If so open your control centre on the phone by swiping up from the lock screen and just below the play/rewind controls there will be a box that says airplay. Click that and it will give you the option of playing through bluetooth or the dock connector.

I'm confused with you first bit pal?

When playing over Bluetooth I have to select music from my phone. However, when playing over USB I select it from the cars music function. When connected to USB the Bluetooth function on aux is no longer available to me.

I am on ios7 yeah.

I've not tried that but I will next time I'm in the car!!

What I meant was if you choose bluetooth on the car stereo, and the phone starts playing over bluetooth if you then switch to USB on the car stereo the phone still tries to output over bluetooth even though the car is expecting USB input. Net result is you get the song details on the screen but no sound.

Or the other way round as in your example, if you start on USB and then switch to bleutooth in the car it won't play over bluetooth until you change it on the phone control centre.

This is where you have to go into control centre on the phone and change it.

Or maybe it's only my car/phone combination that does this!

It's tough to explain, but a lot easier to demonstrate in the car.
