Mk 7 Tdci Exhaust

Featured Replies

Hey everyone I'm looking at whether it's worth me getting an aftermarket exhaust for a small power gain. I've seen the miltek exhausts but can't find many videos on the sound as I don't want it to be loud all the time.

Any opinions or help would be great

Ive just fitted the miltek dual exit exhaust. It looks stunning, but it does nothing with the sound or power.

Most sound are muted within the turbo. The miltek kit does also have a backbox wich also keeps the sound level down. Im infact a bit dissapointed..

So it's just cosmetic then?

For a diesel? Yes, unless you also get it remapped. Do all your mods first, then a remap in the end, that way the tuner can get the most out of your mods.

Regarding sound, its just a matter of number of mufflers. It will give the same sound with the same numbers of mufflers, because of the turbo taking away the most.

The J1 intake did much more difference in sound than the miltek exhaust.

Yeah I'm looking at getting it remapped im just deciding on whether its worth going with an induction kit and exhaust as well or if im better off just getting it remapped.

I dont want a huge amount of noise i wont mind a little bit but i dont want loads.

That what I wanted aswell. I have gotten nice sound from my previous VAG diesels, just by opening the exhaust a little.

With the J1 intake it got a bit more throaty, but nothing like a gas engine. The turbo whistling got alot louder though, allmost annoying.

Interesting, on a similar note, have you heard much about if Focus parts from the 115 bhp engine would bolt into ours as i think there the same block cuz it might be worth doing that. But i cant find much detail about it.

The 110bhp focus is very much the same engine, its just some different injectors, turbo and ecu.

But the body of the focus is different, I wouldnt go down that route.

Do your car have a DPF? If not, you can buy the milltek non-dpf downpipe from pumaspeed, together with the catback parts you will get a complete 2.5" system, with only one muffler. Guess it will sound great.

Theres a youtube video with that same setup here:

Would it make much difference if i did just the injectors? or would you say just dont even consider it?

Sadly mine has the dpf, which after watching a video of a guy who removed it and put an exhaust on is pretty mad cuz the smoke just pours out of it. Just doesnt seem worth it.

Seems the easiest option is just to get a remap rather than the other bits. Cuz i dont want a roaring engine if i got the induction kit and exhaust.

All that smoke in that video is because of an faulty remap, A proper map will not smoke, DPF or not.

No point in just swapping injectors, you will get a little more fuel, but the car doesnt know that unless you get it remapped. So result will be nonoptimal fuel/air ratio, and you will smoke.

Any idea how much difference if i changed the injectors and remapped it as opposed to just a remap?

If you have the 95bhp, a remap will take you to 130 I guess. With bigger injectors and a turbo i guess you could push up to 150bhp.

Take a look here, lots of info on tuning the DV6 PSA engines we have in our tdci fiestas.

I've read that a remap is 115-125 bhp so i think i'll just do that rather than the rest unless i find anything else

I think your best just sticking to a remap,,,, gains of roughly 30%, more mpg if driven normally, and its just instantly noticeable. Smile factor alone is worth it haha.

Have you had yours remapped?
