Problem With 2003 1.6 Focus

Featured Replies

Engine management light has come on and when going over 50mph it flashes very sluggish and jerky - after googling noticed the spark plugs could be a problem so removed all four today (my dad was very surprised my car started as they were all very bad) replaced all four thought I had solved the problem after going for a drive round the block - but even though not so sluggish it's still jerky and struggles to gain speed like normal. Any ideas?

You need the fault codes read basically its likrly in limp mode so it could be anything from fuel filter to coil pack and leads

Ok that's ill get it booked in a garage then - was hoping to spare the expense : (

What do you mean when you say the spark plugs were 'very bad'.

You would be best to check that the gap you have on the spark plugs is correct. If this is out, it can cause the jerky driving!
