Hands Free,,, Which Speakers ?

Featured Replies

Ok guys, using Bluetooth for phone calls in the car, which speakers should I be hearing the sound through ? I'm sure when I got the car it was coming through them all, but since disconnecting the battery a few weeks back it only works through my left rear speaker and doesn't seem anywhere near as loud as it use to be ? I've gone into the sound settings during a call, but I can't move any of the settings ie balance or faded and these are set to rear left speaker only. Is this right.

Nobody got Bluetooth hands free ??? Just wanna know if the sound when on a phone call comes through all your speakers or just the rear left like mine.

The sound would usually come through all speakers.

Try resetting the system again.

Resetting as in disconnect the battery again Stoney ? Just can't understand why the sound settings won't budge while in phone mode, fader set to rear, and balance set to lefthand side, and can't adjust them..... Even struggle to hear a phone convo if at motorway speed with radio at full volume.

Will try again tomorrow... You still got the focus ?

Indeed.

Mine has an aftermarket hands free but whether factory fitted or not the sound should still come out of all speakers.

Sent using Ford OC mobile app

Yeah my old focus was after market, but all speakers, and im sure this one in my fiesta (standard bluetooth) was working on all speakers before I disconnected the battery...... The mind boggles lol, to many gadgets in this thing haha.

If you play a CD through the head unit does it just come through just the left rear speaker or on all speakers as normal?

Can you adjust the sound (eg - balance/ fader) when playing back a cd?

Not tried a CD FOCA, as im moving with the times and use a USB thingy now haha. But the sound plays normally through this, with all speakers working ? And yes, I can adjust everything while not in phone mode.

Just remembered too... I first noticed it when setting up voice commands, and the female voice that prompts you was only coming through on rear left ?

If the system works as normal through all speakers it means the speakers, speaker wires/ connectors and the head units' internal amps are ok (just a proccess of elimination)

MP3s or compressed formats are more convenient than CDs, but a backward step (or several steps) in terms of sound quality -

If you are really into your sounds you should compare the sound of a cd - the cd is pure 16 bit -44.1khz (thats why an hour of it takes up more than half a gigabyte - in squeezing it into a much smaller size you loose quality) you get full 20hz-20khz frequency response, full stereo seperation, dynamic range etc - i personally don't listen to compressed formats - im into music/ hi-fi

ARRRRRGGGGGHHHHHH  OK,, so now I have a problem. Disconnected the battery today, and this fixed the bluetooth speaker issues yeyyyyy, BUT, now my USB stick won't work, and this is gonna finish me off, gotta have my tunes. When I press the AUX button I now only have 'line in' and can't switch between this & USB. I can get the menu to come up on screen and see ipod, usb & line in, and if i select usb from here it will show me all the albums i have on the stick, but as soon as i click ok to play one, it just reverts back to 'line in'.

I did try to update the software last night by following iNath's guide on here, but because i'd already done it a few months back it didn't download, was the same software..... Really need some help on this one, as daft as it sounds, the usb option was a BIG plus point in my decision to buy this car, as I HATE cd's. Someone help me pleaseeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee :(
