Blub Blown/fuse?

Featured Replies

Hey Guys,

I started my car today and turned on my main lights, i noticed that the left main light started to flicker and then cut out, i thought it was odd as i replaced that same bulb around 3 months ago.

I then purchased a brand new blub, installed it but still nothing.

I'm thinking its a fuse, but i have no idea where the fuse box is, which one i should check and what ampage i need.

If anyone has any information in regards to this that would be amazing!

Thanks

Ed

if the bulbs are going that quick and fuses going then theres an issue with the light or wiring the fuse is under the bonnet on the passenger side next to the airbox fuses 16/17

Hey Arthur,

thanks for the reply, i dont think there is anything wrong with the bulb (i havent tested it) but the way that the light flickered and then just stoppped working seems to say either fuse or wiring....

if it is the fuse what amp is it?

not sure likely a 20 there are spare fuses in the box

how do you know which ones are spare? haha

Hi clive. Ive looked at the mk2 and the mk2.5 guide and cant seem to turn off the headlamps even if you take out the correct fuse and I dont see a fuse 16 or 17 either from previous post

False alarm im an idiot! Took the wrong fuse out! All good!

Light sorted as well?

I needed a 15 amp but only had a 10...it worked but will replace it with the right ampage soon, thank you for all your help! This forum is a fountain of knowledge!

We aim to please.

Soon Ford will be asking us for advice. ;)

I think they should!

Where can i get a proper manual for my car, it didn't seem to come with one and i'm thinking of getting one of the Haynes Books?

Haynes books are useful but some of the procedures can be a bit ropey with not very helpful photos.

The handbook you need is serial number 7M5J-19A321-ADA / (CG3505en)
