BazzaS
I've a 2010 Fiesta 1.6 TDCI which was recently serviced. The service included oil change and new oil filter. Yesterday (some 300 miles later) I get the oil can with wavy line under it warning light (fuel in oil) and 'change oil at next service' on the screen. So the first thing I did was to search this forum and found lots about this. The reason I'm posting this topic yet again is because I'm new to the Fiesta and I'm confused. 1) The concensus of opinion seems to be that if the warning comes on (soonish) after a service then the garage have not reset it and all one needs to do is reset it - accelerator/brake etc..... If this is the case why doesn't the warning come on immediately after the service ? 2) Does the presence of both messages together in this circumstance just actually indicate the need for a reset ? 3) If so, then how do I differentiate between this and a 'real' and potentially harmful situation where there's fuel in the oil ? 4) And how, by the way does fuel get in the oil ? Any advice/explanation would be most welcome. Thanks Bazza
tom_d
I had this few months ago. Phone the garage, they said it was just a service light so I reset. I know what you mean, how would you know if there was something wrong?
iNath
service light should be timed by mileage/time so if you service slightly before you'll get the light not long after if dealer forgets to reset.
