Coil Pack Advice Please..

Featured Replies

My daughters wee 1.4 Fiesta petrol is till playing up.... So far the Lambda sensors plugs leads and Thermostat and hoses have had to be replaced in just the last month....

Once again the AA have been called out and today the AA man said it could be a problem with the coil pack....

I have been looking on Ebay for a coil pack and it seems there are Variant 1 and variant 2 coil packs listed for this car..... Both are listed as compatible and are different in price but I'm not sure which one to get ?

AA man said the bolts holding the Coil pack are corroded so will this make changing ot a pain ? He did offer to change is as its a part they carry but they wanted nearly £100 to do this which is a little on the steep side given that they are 30 quid or so delivered.....

The other thing of course is the AA bloke would not guarantee that replacing the CP would cure the intermittent starting problems..

The engine management light comes on.............Then mysteriously goes off again.. But stored codes say misfire on cylinder 1 or sometimes cylinder 2..

I wish this car would simply break down so this hard to find thing could be repaired once and for all..MMM

Any advice welcome !

Thanks .
