Good evening,

I have just joined this forum having just purchased a ford focus mk2 titanium estate.

I have noticed that there is a section missing on the dash/console below the CD Player (see picture) what is missing the dealer said something about a lighter being removed.

could i buy a blank section to replace it? if so does anyone know what this part would be called.

I will no doubt become a regular member of this forum as i like to know to things work and i really don't like pay people to do jobs i could have a good at.

William

They're called a 'cover - switch opening' and is part (Finis) number 1700912 and will be about £7.50 and take a week to come through because Ford don't tend to hold them in stock.

The old one will pull out easily and the new one pops right in.

Also looking at the shape of the hole and the tiny notch to one side I would say that what was actually there was an auxiliary input for your radio (Aux in).

Brilliant thanks. I can't seem to find one on eBay or online so I will ring a garage tomorrow .

How do you remove these covers ? Is there a knack to it ?

Blanking plugs release by levering out with a screwdriver or a plastic panel tool.

Actual switches are more difficult as they have lugs on the back that need pushing in to release.
