Focus Headlamp Wiring Plug

Featured Replies

Hi Guys,

I need to remove the headlamps from my Mk 2.5 Focus.

Removing the actual lamp is fine, but how on earth is the wiring multiplug removed?

There does not appear to be anything to release or press or push to allow the plug to be removed, and I can't seem to get it out.

Any multiplugs I have seen in the past have had a release mechanism on them, but not in this case!

Any help, gratefully received!

On the side of the plug there is a raised piece. At the top of the raised piece you should see a blade of plastic (don't know how else to describe it). Push that down against the side of the plug. The other end of it is locking the plug in place. Pushing that down releases the lock at the other end and the plug should pull out.

I have to do the old brute force method. Flat head screwdriver, poked at the very bottom of the wiring plug.

Then using the light cluster, leaver the darned this out! its a pain in the backside, but it works!
