Tongester
Just came off road and went into grass verge, very muddy and took 4 lads, who stopped to help, to push me out. Noticed wheel arch lining off so stuck it in boot until I got home to wash car down to see damage. Can not see much, although poor light, but noticed a cable hanging down. Any ideas what this is and how to put it back where it should be? Thanks, Tongester :(

Tongester
Hi Wase16ll and Jeebowhite, Yes I have electric door mirrors fitted but no, I have not taken photos because it was too dark. However, it looked like the end of a loop, with a metal part about 20-25mm long and was hanging down to just inside the tyre!! Sorry I cannot be of more help at the moment. Thanks, Tongester
jeebowhite
end of a loop? sounds odd, perhaps more a crash sensor or similar...
Stoney871
Could be the loom to the ECU.
Tongester
Thank you for your replies Jeebowhite and Stoney871, It is definitely a loop that was hanging down rather than the end of a cable that had come loose. Could it be that the arch liner was holding it in place and is now hanging with it coming off? Drove into work Ok this morning and borrowing my sons power washer to get the rest of the mud off but I think I will ask a local garage to look at it asap and put the liner back on. Thanks again for your replies - it is much appreciated for someone who justs knows how to drive a car (although not very good at that at the moment ). jeebowhite
Hi David, Yeah I am beginning to think Clive hit it on the head. If nothing else, you could tie it loosely to any available thing if you couldnt get it in straight away.
