Can Anyone Help With This Rivet

Featured Replies

In the process of changing all my bulbs today, have de tangoed the rear, sides and front, new reverse bulbs aswell.

Im trying to remove the 2 front headlight units to swap out bubs, removed the 2 screws with washers, but cannot get the rivets off!

Ive read the guides on here on removing the units, it says the rivet just pops out, ive tried with flat head screwdriver, my nails, but it will not budge! feel like an idiot as this seems a simple step!

Picture below of the rivet that wont come out

You just unscrew it with a cross head screwdriver then pull it out.

Cheers for the reply.

Ive tried unscrewing both rivets and neither of them come out. Am missing a trick here? Sorry if seems dumb, first time doing this

It's called a scrivet.

Best way to get it out is to turn the inner part with a philips screwdriver and also lever the inner part up with a blade screwdriver at the same time.

The threads don't always catch on unscrewing as they're technically designed for easy fitting but not so much for removing without breaking it out.

Exactly unscrew it and at the same time use a knife or flat screwdriver to pull it out.
