Dab Radio Fiesta Mk7.5

Featured Replies

Hi, probably a stupid question but is there a easy way to get dab radio for the new fiesta or is the only way to upgrade the system to sony? I personally thought if my car came with ford sync it would come with dab.

Thanks

I have the standard unit not the sony upgrade in my zetec s mk7.5 fiesta and I've got DAB ? you just have to let it search/find itself the first time, then should work okay.

You just press the radio button on the left with aux, phone etc, until it says dab and then should come on and tune it to a channel

I can't remember if it was an option, like ford sync with dab ? You'd have to check ford etis or your price sheet from ford

Think it was an option, I havent got it on mine

Not missing much in my opinion

Pretty sure it's an option. I didn't have it on my 1.0 eco but now I have the ST-2 it's standard :P

It is a £100 option I am afraid. To fully check press the RADIO button, press the left arrow button to display the available wavebands. If you DAB fitted DAB1 or DAB2 should show.

You're missing out! You're missing out on the radio completely cutting out, being a pain to retune (I still for the life of me haven't found my favourite radio station since Spetember...) and how my phone interferes with the signal.

Seriously though, you're not missing out, though isn't radio all going to DAB? I think there are a few plug in bits to add DAB, but not sure how good they are. Perhaps ask Ford on this, but I believe the module can be bought separately and added. It does come on the standard system at an extra cost as my ZS diesel has it as an option, and comes standard on Titanium+ models.

DAB is old tech now, It never reached it's potential and has terrible coverage in anywhere other than very strong signal areas.

The DAB system has only ever been pushed out at half strength anyway due to interference with other frequencies used by commercial radio communication networks.

If I want to listen to anything other than standard FM (which I rarely do nowadays as it's crap) I just use an Internet radio service and play it through my phone or MI-FI linked iPod touch, far more channels available and good quality signal too.

Feeling pleased I didn't fork out the extra cost to have it on mine after reading these comments :P
