BHeart
Hi I took delivery of my new Fiesta Titanium on 26th November and I'm really pleased with the car and it's performance but I have a couple of basic questions about the display which I can't seem to find the answers to in the user handbook. I've become very used to the old bluetooth system on my previous Fiesta and the new Ford Sync is quite different. Q: The first one is with regard to Ford Sync, I can make a phone call and hear the other person but they can't hear me? I've noticed that in the display on the bottom left, there is a small 'speaker icon' which has a diagonal line through it and I'm assuming that is the problem - the manual mentions the sync speaker but I can't find where to turn it on. Q: In my previous 2010 Fiesta Zetec, when my mobile phone was connected, this was shown by a small bluetooth icon on the bottom left but I don't see this on the Titanium display so how can I visually tell when the phone is connected? Q: What do the small battery and signal strength bars at the top right of the display signify? I do have some other questions but I'll ask those in another post. Thanks in advance. Loz Cheung
Welcome! Is there a speaker mute button on? cant imagine this being permanently muted though... the small battery and signal symbol signifies your phones battery and signal levels! MartynS
From what I recall of the handbook one of the four function buttons during a call is mute/unmute (you say the icon with the line through it is in the bottom left of the screen, is it in the area that corresponds with the first function button?), there's also an actual mute button on the right hand side. Next time you're in a call try pressing one of those buttons, I reckon the line will go and the other person will be able to hear you. As said above, the battery/signal is being read from your phone so you can use that to tell when it's paired. When there's no phone connected those icons don't appear at all. iNath
As above; it's your phone's signal & battery so if you can see them you know it's connected (instead of the bluetooth symbol)
BHeart
Hi Nath Thanks for the input on my sync questions. I know it's been a while since you installed c/ctrl on my 2010 Fiesta Zetec and I quite incorrectly thought there was a problem with it but, I'm pleased to say that it has been working faultlessly since then and still is - my daughter is now using it. I hope all is well with you and your family. Best Wishes for Christmas and the New Year. Best Regards, Bheart
BHeart
Hi Loz, thanks for your reply. I'm still unfamiliar with the new software and I will check the buttons on the radio to see of the mute is on - not really sure how to turn on the system mic. Welcome! Is there a speaker mute button on? cant imagine this being permanently muted though... the small battery and signal symbol signifies your phones battery and signal levels! Loz Cheung
Does the mute button on the right hand side do it for you there? Just below the red phone/ Skip >> symbol? If not, my next best guess would be one of the 4 buttons that correspond to the four options at the bottom of the display screen :)
