Hi my name is willie having a few problems with my sons car we changed the engine from a 1.25 2000 engine to a 1.25 se we thought it would be a straight swap but changed over all the sensors it starts but misfires quite a bit the only thing we could nt change over was the injectors we just had to change the wiring it runs ok at 1100 revs plus but you can feel it jumpin bit up and down the revs now the guy I took it to to have a look at it says it may need the ecu from the car the engine came with but it had slot more wires can anybody help in anyway thank you willie

Hi Wullie, I know that the Sigma series engines (1.25, 1.4 & 1.6) underwent some external changes around 2003. I know in the Focus, the 1.6 engine went from having a MAF sensor to a TMAP sensor. I'm sure the 1.25 in the fiesta was the same. I think you might need the ECU and the loom from the donor car. Sorry I couldn't be more helpful.

Yeah we managed just about changing everything over all the sensors were the same the only thing was the injectors which we had to rewire they were in different position .we thought about putting ecu and other loom on but had a look and the fuse box and wires were different we were told the engine was the same .the car starts and drives but not very well it's a bit rough but goes good after 1500 revs but when we start slowing down it will stall or cut out going to go back over it look at the wireing just in case a loose wire or something not done right when I say all the sensors were the same there was one the icv had four wires but just put our one on with two wires will let you know how I get on thx
